Stability, comfort, and a longer life expectancy

Full Mouth Dental Implants

A dental implant is a tiny artificial tooth root usually made of titanium. Implants can be surgically placed in your jawbone to support artificial crowns, a dental bridge, or a denture. With this artificial root for stability and support your restoration options expand dramatically. You are able to choose from individual implants replacing each tooth, an implant-supported bridge for several teeth, or implant-supported overdentures for an entire arch.

Conventional dentures can be inconvenient, uncomfortable, and unstable. Dental implants have become the gold standard for single tooth replacements but if it involves several teeth, they can be costly and more complicated. By combining the two technologies, implant dentures provide an affordable solution for you and a restoration that delivers terrific stability, comfort, and a longer life expectancy.

Traynor Periodontics & Implants provides a variety of surgical and non-surgical services for the treatment of periodontal issues. We are well-known for our excellent communication style and warm presence. We are extremely effective with all clinical practices due to our consistent engagement with the innovative, technological improvements in the dental industry. We pride ourselves on the fact that we are very conservative in our treatment recommendations and limit surgery to the areas where it is absolutely necessary. The Benefits of Full Mouth Dental Implants

Full mouth dental implants offer you wonderful, numerous advantages.

What is the process like?

The Full Mouth Dental Implant Process

The process starts with a detailed evaluation by your team at Traynor Periodontics & Implants. We will review your entire medical history and the current condition of any remaining natural teeth, as well as the condition of your gums. We will also take a number of images of your jawbone, either upper or lower, to both identify and determine the integrity and density of your jaw structure. After this we can pinpoint the precise, most advantageous locations for each implant, or we might have to consider bone grafting prior to an implant placement to achieve the necessary bone mass for proper support. When the optimal positions are identified for each implant, the procedure begins with your team at Traynor Periodontics & Implants administering a local anesthetic to numb the tissue immediately around each implant location. Once the gum is adequately numb, we will make a small incision and surgically place each tiny titanium post directly into your jawbone. We finish by closing each site with sutures.

It will now take a few months for the implant to fuse, bond, and integrate with the jawbone. During this healing period we will fit and provide you with a temporary appliance, whether it is a denture or a dental bridge. When your healing is completed, we again open the soft gum tissue to add abutments or extensions on top of the implants to reach the surface of the gumline. With now only a week or two of healing you are ready for your final, permanent restoration. Whether it is the attachment method of balls on each post or a bar attachment connecting the implants, we attach the final appliance custom created at a dental lab. The appliance securely snaps on to the stabilized posts or bar and you have a stable and secure restoration as you leave Traynor Periodontics & Implants with a huge healthy smile.
